EVEN more young people can now enter Cheltenham's Top Talent after organisers raised the age limit.
The event had been restricted to people aged 20 or under but is now eligible to those aged 25 or under.
Aimed at discovering some of the best talent Cheltenham has to offer, the competition is being backed by the Echo, Beechwood Shopping Centre and Cheltenham Mayor Barbara Driver.
Echo editor Kevan Blackadder said: "We've had a lot of interest from talented young people who were slightly older than the original age limit.
"By opening entry up to people aged 25 and under, the competition will still be recognising youthful talent but also the wider range of talent that is out there.
"This also ties in with Cheltenham Mayor Barbara Driver's wish to support young people with the money that will be raised during the event for her chosen charities."
Mrs Driver, who will judge the event along with Mr Blackadder and Beechwood Shopping Centre manager Owen Acland, said: "Young people are our future. The majority of them are doing some incredibly good things and quietly getting on with their lives. I want this to be a fun event that celebrates the young people of this town and what they can do."
Entry to Cheltenham's Top Talent is open to people from the Echo circulation area.
Applications should be sent to the Echo by noon on November 11, with auditions taking place at the Beechwood Shopping Centre on November 26 and 27. The final will be on December 18.
