Beechwood Shopping Centre ended 2011 on a high and is looking forward to 2012 with optimism.
After a sparkling Christmas with its fantastic lights and decorations, a visit from Santa and his reindeer and the chance to win shopping vouchers, the centre is now in the midst of New Year sales.
With the pre-Christmas weather a vast improvement on the previous year’s bleak snow and ice, shoppers enjoyed the chance of a last minute spend to buy their loved ones’ presents.
Although everyone had to tighten their belts and watch their pennies during a tough economic time, Beechwood shoppers turned out in good numbers and experienced some bargains from a number of shops.
In-store offers will continue well into the New Year as the sales get into full swing and Beechwood centre manager Owen Acland predicts that shoppers will make the most of these opportunities.
“All our shops are doing all they can,” said Owen. “It’s been a very difficult year for shops, and shoppers, but we really appreciate that customers have remained loyal and we certainly hope that everyone enjoys a more prosperous year in 2012, although there are still some tough times ahead.
“But customers to Beechwood know they will get excellent value and good service and they can also do their shopping knowing that they will always be in the dry and can just make a short walk to our shops from our car park. We have been awarded the Park Mark safe parking scheme award for a further 12 months which is great news and testament to the hard work, dedication and diligence of the team. The car park has been inspected and approved by the police and offers high quality and safe parking with measures in place to reduce levels of crime. “
Beechwood’s Christmas lights display was really well received by shoppers and the end-of-year Cheltenham’s Top Talent competition organised jointly by Beechwood and the Gloucestershire Echo in aid of the Mayor’s charities attracted good crowds into the centre.
The competition was hailed a success and 2012 in Beechwood promises to be just as eventful.
They’ll be plenty going on but in the meantime we wish you a Happy New Year.
